Left Out: School-to-Prison Pipeline

A group of New York City high school students examine the school-to-prison pipeline at their school, and look toward changes.

A funny thing happened when the Bush Administration's "No Child Left Behind" Act took effect: almost everyone was left behind. Yet for a vast majority of young folks of color, the bill merely codified problems already endemic in public schools -- lack of resources, lowered expectations, and a system set up for failure. In this video from the Global Action Project, a group of New York City high school students examine the school-to-prison pipeline at their school, and look toward changes.
