Rebel Diaz Assaulted and Arrested by NYPD

Rodstarz and G1, two members of the seminal hip-hop group Rebel Diaz were beaten and arrested this week by New York City police officers after coming to the aid of a street vendor. Communities from around the nation, particularly in New York City, are demanding that charges are dropped.

Update (June 24, 2008): Rodstarz and G1 were arraigned and charged with two misdemeanors: obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. They're out of jail and will appear in court again on September 3, 2008.
