Corn in the U.S.A.
Genetically modified food is fast becoming the norm in the US. From the corporate monopoly of farming to the starvation wages paid to farmworkers, what we eat and how it's produced has far reaching implications.

King Korn

The best source of information on this whole subject is the documentary film, "King Korn." I strongly recommend that anyone who is concerned about this subject, or thinks that world food shortages are being caused by the use of corn in biofuels production must see. We have way too much corn, not a shortage, and it is being used to the detriment of our health and economy as a result of federal policies that date all the way back to the Nixon administration. This flood of unhealthy corn-based food is a result of a well-intended effort to produce enough food to make hunger a thing of the past. We can now see the results and must, if we are to truly have sufficient healthy food and a sustainable basis of food production, stop this nonsense. "King Korn" tells the story and I strongly recommend it to all concerned.
